The ExecVision Google Chrome extension is available for web conferencing tools that don't have clean APIs. The Chrome extension is designed to manually record and push metadata from the conversation into the ExecVision platform. The Chrome extension is capable of recording screen shares from:
- RingCentral Meetings
- Microsoft Teams (Skype for Business, Lync)
Install the Chrome Extension
Navigate to the Install link within the Chrome Web Store. Select Add to Chrome to begin the automatic downloading process.
Click Add Extension to confirm the download.
The extension will be visible in the upper right-hand corner of Chrome. Confirm your credentials once redirected to the ExecVision Chrome extension login page.
Using the Chrome Extension
The ExecVision extension is less intrusive than bots and offers choice when it comes to recording screen shares. Automatic recording for the extension is not available to meet Google's compliance standards.
Start your screen share. You'll be asked to re-authenticate and login again if you don't use the extension for seven days.
At any time during the call, you can click on the EV icon to access the control panel and select the microphone icon to begin the recording. The duration of the recording will appear on the control panel and the extension icon while the recording is in progress.
Conversations will be recorded if audio is being captured by computer audio. Calls are not recorded if the extension user dials-in to the screen share via phone conference bridge.
Select the gear icon to adjust the recording settings. Individual web conferencing tools can be enabled for the Chrome Extension. Other extension options include:
- Not recording a conversation if a colleague is already using the Chrome extension to record
- Announcement 30 seconds after first participant joins that the call is being recorded
- Two announcements that the call is being recorded, 30 seconds and 3 minutes into the recording, after first participant joins
Log your call notes before ending the conversation. These fields pre-populate with data if integrated directly with a CRM. Providing as much information as possible allows for finding the call easier once available in the ExecVision platform.
Should you leave all fields incomplete, the call will be available in ExecVision but there won't be any data for the 1st or 3rd line of the Call Card.
